Wheel 101 - Practice Makes Progress FALL24

Dive into the fundamentals of creating on the wheel and get your hands dirty in a relaxed and casual environment as we practice the basics of wheel-throwing. You'll learn how to wedge, center, and shape the clay, and how to trim your pieces to refine them for firing. As you progress through the course, you’ll also learn about glaze options and how to apply them to enhance your creations. The focus of this course is on skill-building and understanding the properties of clay, while preparing students to advance to the next level course.

All students will receive a 25 lb. bag of clay, but must provide their own tools. Tool sets are available for purchase at KCS for $20 plus tax. Open studio time during business hours is included with this class.
